Gambit in chess game is not unusual. When SCA launched its vision in 2009 ‘Towards Producing the First Sabah Chess Grandmaster by 2019’, some have questioned our ability to achieve that vision within 10 years.
Personally, I know it is very unlikely to achieve such vision but on the other note, I know it is not impossible. It is not the end result that matter most but the road we build towards achieving it within the time stipulated.
‘Rome was not built in a day’. We must strategize and synergize all the resources and ideas available and work together to develop chess in Sabah. Remember, SCA will not be able to do this alone.
